About us
Learning to drive is a serious business, but that doesn't mean it can't be fun. At first you might find the whole idea of driving a bit scary, this is where we help by putting you at ease and making the lessons enjoyable, you'll find you'll learn a lot more when you're enjoying yourself.
It is important to us that you have a positive experience when learning to drive, so here are a few things we do and don't do.
- Pick you up on time, every time
- Give you great value for money
- Give you a full 1, 1½, or 2 hour lesson to suit you
- Give you a ‘Progress Tracker’ to monitor your development
- Provide you with free ‘handouts’. See here
- Organise a mock test under full test conditions to make sure you are totally ready for your test
- Make your driving lessons enjoyable and fun
We Don’t
- Turn up late, or drop you off early
- Answer the phone in your lesson
- ‘Piggy back’ – by picking up the next pupil before your lesson has finished
- Put you in for your test before you are ready
- Get you to drive around with no purpose to the lesson
The ‘Progress Tracker’
Dawn’s school of motoring has developed a Progress Tracker, which is filled-out at the end of each lesson. Like most good ideas, it’s not rocket science but it’s really effective! I’ve broken the huge subject known simply as “driving,” into 33 separate headings. There are 5 different “grades” for each subject; 1 means you’ve only just been told about a topic, 5 means you’re at test standard. By using this simple, one page Tracker, you can see EXACTLY where you’re at on your learning curve. At the end of each lesson I will update the tracker, so you’ll immediately see what progress you made on that lesson. I will use this to plan each lesson, so that you can get the most out of it.
Probably even more importantly, I can use the tracker to accurately forecast how long it will be before you are ready for your test, and save you a small fortune in the process.
Free Handouts
I have developed my own specifically designed professional teaching aids. It is well known that a picture says a thousand words and from previous experience they are highly effective along with good instructional techniques. These cover all the practical elements of driving, which you can take away and study.
